First planted in 1866, the Audrey Wilkinson vineyard is located on the red soils at the foot of the Brokenback Mountain range in the Pokolbin sub-region of the Hunter Valley and is acknowledged as the first vineyard established there.
The Wilkinson's were pioneers of the Hunter Valley, having trained in wine making in Alsace and Burgundy in the 1860's before bringing this expertise to Australia.
Today the winery is run by the Agnew family who take great pride in honouring the legacy of the Wilkinson's as well as forging their own path with a modern takes on classic Hunter varietals.
